  • Potholes Acknowledged
10 Arlington Street Quincy, Massachusetts - Quincy
Since there is no category for FLOODING, I put this in Potholes since it should get to the DPW. So, there is substantial flooding at this location which should be inspected for appropreate treatment. Thanks!

Light is out and has been for a long time. Pole number is damaged, ergo the Xs. However, this is the only street light on this portion of Arlington Street near W. Squantum. Please repair, thanks.
  • 2-16 Arlington Street Quincy, Massachusetts - Quincy
The new gas pipe project personnel appear to have left 3 gas tanks and other remains at this location, including yellow and blue-green plastic piping and construction grade lumber. Can someone look into this, please. Is it safe to leave gas tanks exposed on the public sidewalk?
  • 1-15 Arlington Street Quincy, Massachusetts - Quincy
Several large black trash bags and residential lumber waste was dumped at the only light pole on this block. It's been there for at least three weeks. Can someone remove it, please. Thank you.
  • 2-20 Farrington Street Quincy, Massachusetts - Quincy
The ONEWAY arrow sign on the corner of farrington and w. squantum is gone! Drivers coming along w. squantum toward hancock cannot see the DO NOT enter signs. A ONEWAY arrow sign was atop the street name sign which helped to communicate, but it's not there any more. Can this sign be replaced?
  • 100 West Squantum Street Quincy, Massachusetts - Quincy
All along W. Squantum Street including from Hancock back to before Pres Golf Course the new gas pipe installation project and new intersection construction has left the streets' gutters littered with asphalt residue (small rocks). I think it a good idea and practice to have a sweeper truck do a clean-up before and after the work is completed. I feel it's time to clean-up what is there now, and again when it's done. Hope this can happen soon, thanks.
  • 1 Mechanic Street Quincy, Massachusetts - Quincy
Broken beer bottle and food in Town Brook Park. Sad, but true. The two Parks on either side of Mechanic Street are such a wonderful addition to our City, it's such a disgrace that there are those who are so oblivious to it.

The 'One Way' sign has been remove which was on the corner of Arlington Street and the one way road between Arlington and Fayette Street. Should it be replaced or was the removal per the City?

  • 32-60 Fayette St Quincy, MA - Quincy
I found the street sign for Fayette Street on the ground next to the sign post at the indicated location on the map. I would like someone from the appropreate City Dept. to contact me so I can hand it in. I'm holding it so it can be replaced, saving tax payers the expense of having to make a new sign. it just has to be re-installed. The sign is in good condition. Thanks

Between 1 and 2pm, Sunday, September 9th, I noticed children playing catch in traffic on the street, standing on the corner and sitting on the curb while parents attended church up stairs at 34 Newport Ave in the New Born Again Church.
I understand children playing, but I warned the City of this potential before, this is a dangerous intersection and now that families are converging upon this local a clear and present danger is active. I have not seen children playing on the street out side of other Churches, Temples, Mosks, Synogogues, etc.

I fear for the childrens safey. Yes lack a place to play while parents are attending church, obviously. But the city has been made aware of this dangerous stituation now more than once. If someone get killed while playing in the street here, the city will be made liable. You have been warned.

  • Inadequite Signage Acknowledged
Arlington Street Quincy, MA - Quincy
I witness numerous vehicle during the course of any given day (today, two within minutes of eachother, which prompted this report.) driving the wrong way on Arlinton Street From Newport Ave to West Squantum Street. There is not enough signage (Do Not Enter, and One Way) to inforce the idea that this street is ONEWAY. In particlular, the intersection of Arlington and the drive between Fayette and Arlington NEEDS signage to indicate at that point that Arlington is ONEWAY. There are no signs at this point. Drivers from the Parking Lot along Arlington near Newport Way, and, from Newport Ave are driving the wrong way - careless or not this is dangerous and The City could be held liable if there are no signs at this point. Tax payers could save money avoiding this potential liability. Please have some one contact me so I can show them what I see, if need be, but please get someone down there to install signage at that point. Thank you.

This location is to demonstrate what The City of Quincy can do to eliminate costly sign posting vandalizm and tamering. The Walgreens Store at this location has a shroud about the base of the sign post preventing access to the nuts and bolts that connect the upper sign post to the embedded base. Over the years of my residency here in Quincy I have seen numerous instances of sign post having been tampered with throughout the City. If the City were to look into this shroud at this location on the Stop Sign on the Walgreen property it will find perhaps a perfect solution, modifiable, for City Signage Security and Protection, and, Cost Reduction purposes. Please pass this on to those who may be frustrated by the numerous incidences of vandalizm of sign posts and I feel confident that the tax payers and those who rely on signage for a safe and fluid journey in, about and through Quincy will be glad you did. Thank you for hepling me help the City of Quincy become a better place to live, work and play!

Sometime ago I reported that this sign was a danger to public safety due to a missing bolt. Since then the sign and post have been removed, but the embedded stub is still there presenting a continued hazard since it could cause sever bodily injury or death, if someone were to fall on it - it stands about a foot out of the sidewalk. I would like to see the sign replaced immediately since it's been a month or more since it's been gone. In addition, i realize that this situation is a problem for us since the attachment method is tamperable and thus leaves us the problem. Perhaps we could solve this type of problem once and for all time, if we took another look at how we make these connections and either find a readymade solution or invent one and sell it to the rest of the world - now there's an idea! How 'bout we, as the City, create an innovation entity that would facilitate citizen participation - like an MIT LAB sort of thing - creating products for Municipaliies!!! My brother did that in NYC years ago as a NYC Housing Authority Superintendent. Let's do this!! Yeah!
  • 1 Billings Rd Quincy, MA - Quincy
At this location and on the other side of the tracks, given the foot traffic crossing over the MBTA rails and the food services on either side, there should be perminent, perhaps a couple BigBelly, trash recepticles to accomodate the well intended citizen who would like to disgard their trash but cannot, and, perhaps encourage the not so well intend to so also. If recepticles were there today I would have had the chance to properly disgard the trash I picked up along the way between Hancock and the rails. In addition, this area (especially on Billings) could have a more pleasant look and feel, if the City and Businesses were to realize the potential for themselves and passersby (Lets get them together on this). Please, at least put some receptilces year round for us so we can participate in helping to up hold a Cleaner - Greener Quincy. Thank you.

Car license plate no. I 776 sighted illegally park at 12: 27pm blocking Right Turning Lane, and parked on an angle making matters worse. This Right turning lane is continuosly violated and poses a nuiasance to drivers who wish to promote safety and the flow of traffic at this intersection of Hancock and billings Road.
